Jared Leto in Pushkar |
Soon after designer Giorgio Armani's nieceRoberta Armani left Rajasthan, Hollywoodactor-cum-singer Jared Leto landed up in the desert state.
Leto's apparently in love with deserts, and after having a grand birthday celebration in Delhi, he's taken off for a warm vacation in Rajasthan. The actor, who is on an extended trip to India with his brother Shannon and two friends, reached Jaipur on Thursday.
Though he had a brief stay in the Pink City - only an hour - he didn't forget to capture the architectural beauty of the Amber Fort. He was in a bit of a hurry when he reached the Fort and left soon for Pushkar, 15 km from Ajmer. But before that, he tweeted, "I've got to get a plot of land out in the desert somewhere so we can all have a home together." It seems that the actor plans to buy some property in Rajasthan.
Apart from a vacation in the land of forts and palaces, Leto also plans to explore his spiritual side. He did a pooja at the Pushkar Sarovar and prayed for his family's peace and happiness. And when Pandit Jitendra Parashar chanted the mantra, he followed, though with some difficulty, chanting the Guru Mantra with an American accent. Narrating how the actor's presence attracted quite a crowd to the lake, Parashar says, "He asked me to do a pooja for his family. He also asked me the meaning of each word." At first, the locals did not recognise the actor, but when a group of foreign travellers spotted him, the actor soon left for his hotel. Leto's Rajasthan plans include Jaipur, Ajmer, Udaipur and Jodhpur. He left for Jodhpur late in the evening on Thursday with his friends, with plans to visit more forts and places.
