Thirty Seconds To Mars Announce New Album, LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS
Mar 18 2013
The new album features 12 songs, and will be in stores on May 21.
Thirty Seconds To Mars are covering all the bases on their new album.
On Monday (March 18), they announced that the follow-up to their 2009 effort This Is War will be called LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS, an all-encompassing title that seems lend credence to what mastermind Jared Leto told MTV News earlier this month, when he described the new album as "provocative."
"This is a really important album for us. It's an evolution ... this album is more of who we are than we have ever been before," Leto said. "And we've gone to an entirely new place, which is incredibly exciting."
LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS will be released on May 21, and is produced by Leto, with Steve Lillywhite co-producing four of the twelve tracks. The album artwork is a work called "Isonicotinic Acid Ethyl Ester," from legendary British artist Damien Hirst, and a second piece of his art, from the "Colour Charts" series, will appear on the CD itself.
Monday is shaping up to be quite the day for Mars ... in addition to the new album announce, they're also premiering the first single off the disc, "Up In The Air" in a live chat with NASA. Earlier this month, they blasted the first copy of the song into orbit on board a SpaceX rocket. Oh, and they're one of the 64 bands competing in the fourth annual Musical March Madness tournament, which tipped off today.
