Thirty Seconds to Mars Launching New Single Into Space
FEBRUARY 28, 2013

'Up in the Air' will head to the International Space Station

Thirty Seconds to Mars will blast their new single "Up in the Air" literally into the air tomorrow, when the first copy is included on a SpaceX cargo mission delivering scientific experiments and goods to the International Space Station.
Frontman Jared Leto and his bandmates will head to Cape Canaveral in Florida to watch the launch of the Falcon 9 rocket, which will also be shown on NASA's website.
The band will also visit Mission Control in Houston on March 18th to chat with space station astronaut Tom Marshburn. The interview will be broadcast live, with more details available soon on the band's website
"Up in the Air" will see full release on March 19th. The song marks the first single from Thirty Seconds to Mars' as-yet-untitled fourth LP, which is set for release later this year. The band took a break from the road last year to begin working on the follow-up to 2009's This Is War amid break-up rumors that Leto squelched in an interview with Rolling Stone at the time: "We are excitedly working in the studio," he said. "I have been working quietly and without much fanfare, but I've been writing and recording constantly, really crafting the future sound of Thirty Seconds to Mars."
