Teen Wolf Season-Three Scoop: New Big Bads and Stiles' Love Life!
15 agosto 2012

Help, we've fallen and we can't get up. Fallen in love with Teen Wolf that is. (Oh so cheesy, but oh so true!)
Teen Wolf's stellar sophomore season came to a close Monday night (boo, hiss!), closing out 12 episodes of nonstop twists, turns and just plain ole teen drama goodness. A big bad was taken out (or was he?), four new big bads were introduced and relationships were altered.
We chatted with the MTV hit series' executive producer/professional life-ruiner (just kidding!)Jeff Davis about what fans can expect from season three and what's ahead for Scott (Tyler Posey), Stiles (Dylan O'Brien), Allison (Crystal Reed) and the rest of the Beacon Hills gang...
Prepare for a Time Jump: Season three will start up four months after the finale, skipping the gang's summer break all together. "It gives you a little narrative breathing room and it allows us to come back to a character after they've had a chance to get over things," he says. "It is a way at starting back at square one. So, in order to tell a new story and I think it's fun to start them junior year.
"I have the opening to episode ‘301' already planned out and it's going to be for Scott and Stiles, it is going to be life back to normal again," he continues. "It is going to be about junior year and prepping for the SATs and getting ready for college. They will have to come back to being normal teenagers before the new mystery, before new bad guys start to brew again."
Jeff wouldn't reveal the overall theme of season three (man's gotta have his secrets!), but says, "I think fans can definitely expect the same level of thrills and action and romance. You're going to see a new kind of relationship with Scott and Allison, especially now that they've broken up. It'll be interesting to play that dynamic of being scorned lovers who have to figure out if they can stay apart or if something brings them back together."
An Abundance of Alphas: Jeff confirms that season three's big bad will be the Alpha pack that came into town in the finale's closing minutes. "They are a very dangerous threat. The Alpha pack is going to be very dangerous to everyone in Beacon Hills. They're coming for a very specific reason, which is a part of the mystery of the new season."
So how exactly does an Alpha pack operate?
"There is a kind of leader of the Alpha pack and he is a very bad man. But there is an Alpha female as well. These are all new characters that you'll meet. They're an all new cast," Jeff teases. "The reason why they're an alpha pack and how that makes them strong will be explained in the season. There is a specific reason why they're an Alpha pack."
One Alpha tidbit he would reveal? "Two of the members are twins, so it'll be fun to do that. We'll be casting for twins very soon."
As for this season's big bad Gerard (Michael Hogan), who disappeared at the end of the finale, David wouldn't say if he would be returning next season. "He's not dead," Jeff hints.
"Stydia" in Season Three: One bone we had to pick with Jeff? Stiles (aka currently our favorite character on TV) not landing the girl, Lydia (Holland Roden), at the end of the season.
"I think they have amazing chemistry together. I can see that happening. They're just so good together. One of the things I didn't expect actually in episode 11 was the looks they gave each other," he explains. "They were magic. In looking at her from the field and seeing the look of pride in her eyes. She's just great. They're really good together. I can see that pairing playing a bigger role in season three."
Whew! But wait, what about Jackson (Colton Haynes)? Davis reveals they actually filmed an alternative scene for the finale where he died, and when asked about his season three storyline says, "As for Jackson's fate, you'll just have to wait and see." Ruh-roh! And yes, his blue eyes as a wolf definitely mean something. "It's significant," Jeff hints. "There is definitely a reason for it."
Ch-ch-ch-changes: While season one was enjoyable, season two of the MTV hit series completely raised the bar, transforming from a guilty pleasure into must-see TV.
"I think we found our voice and we're not afraid to try things. Season one was very much finding our way and what the show was and with season two and the upcoming season three we know the structure of the show and I think we're comfortable with having fun, which is nice," Jeff explains of the change. "I mean the show has a lot of humor and crazy things on it. We made a snake come out of Colton Haynes' eye! Stuff that they don't do on other shows I was always aware of the possibility of a sophomore slump and I didn't want that to happen, so we went crazy with the story."
And we're glad he did.

"Jared is a maniac out of control, but someone in a band must be this. Someone must have the last word and make difficult decisions. Someone must be able to look at your eyes and say ‘This is a wrong answer, try again’. Someone must have balls to start a new. And this someone is Jared. He writes a song, records it and throws it away the next day, because he recognizes it isn’t good enough."
