‘Teen Wolf’ season 3 spoiler: Lydia will be explaining Jackson’s absence
January 25, 2013
Fans have (grudgingly) accepted the fact that Jackson (Colton Haynes) will not be featured in season 3 of Teen Wolf, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have tons of questions! Here’s a snippet about how his departure will be addressed.
In a spoiler chat with EOnline, it was revealed that a Jackson-less Beacon Hills won’t be a shock to its residents because of that handy four month time jump that will occur between the end of season 2 and the beginning of season 3. Other than Lydia, we doubt too many people will be missing Jackson, especially after everything he did last year.
Speaking of Lydia, apparently she will be the one to explain Jackson’s absence this season. E! says, “we’ll learn what happened to him thanks to a quippy explanation from Lydia,” and we can already see her now – pursed lips, a little flip of the hair, and that ever-present Lydia Martin sass. She’ll probably be playing it off while she’s around Allison and the others, but after what happened in season 2′s finale, we know that Jackson’s leaving is going to be painful for her.
Unfortunately, we’ve still got no news as to why Jackson would be leaving. Considering that the Alpha Pack is going to be the main antagonist for this season, we doubt that Jackson would’ve been kidnapped or had just gone missing mysteriously. Otherwise, our heroes would probably be mounting an all out search for the newly converted werewolf. More than likely Jackson packed up and left voluntarily, maybe to get away from the Beacon Hills for a while after all he did to its inhabitants while under Matt’s control. And we can’t blame him for that.
Why do you think Jackson won’t be in Beacon Hills during season 3? Do you think this will severely effect Lydia, or do you think she’ll move on fairly quickly?
Meet the new faces of ‘Teen Wolf’
New characters seem to be coming into season 3 left and right, amidst departures of some old cast members. Both Colton Haynes (Jackson) and Gage Golightly (Erica) will not be returning for another season.
However, a whole slew of new characters and new cast members have been added to the roster. The major casting announcement came back in November, when it was announced that Max and Charlie Carver would be playing Ethan and Aiden, the Alpha Pack twins; Adelaide Kane would be playing Cora, a mysterious woman; Felisha Terrell would be playing Kali, the female member of the Alpha Pack; and Gideon Emery would be playing Deucalion, the Alpha Pack’s leader.
Characters Ennis and Heather have not been announced yet, though some believe that Caitlin Custer could be portraying Stiles’ childhood friend. Hayley Webb will also have a recurring role, portraying someone’s love interest – possibly Derek’s. We also know that Meagan Tandy has been on set, although her role remains mysterious as well. (Check her out wielding a weapon in the locker room in this video.)
Lastly, Zelda Williams, daughter of Robin Williams, has also joined the cast in an unknown role.
